Meet Michelle

One of our goals to help create a sense of community – connecting you to other Doha Metro fans and fellow commuters. The people that you might see regularly waiting for the same train. Or just to help you satisfy your curious nature and bring you closer to people living in Qatar.

My lovely colleague Michelle who shares her experience of Doha Metro

Tell us a little bit about yourself…

Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m from the Philippines and I have lived and worked here in Qatar for 12 years.

Why are you using the Metro?

I use Doha Metro mostly after work every day – the nearest station to my office is NMoQ Station. I use Doha Metro to help me reach my home early and enjoy a quiet walk for exercise. The Metro also gives me great access to supermarkets, malls, and other places that I like to go.

Why do you enjoy travelling by Doha Metro?

I love using Doha Metro to travel around the city because it’s very easy there isn’t any hassle such as getting stuck in traffic. It also offers a comfortable journey, it’s convenient to change lines, and the Metro offers free access to Wi-Fi and is well maintained with regards to cleanliness.

What’s the best thing about Doha Metro?

Doha Metro offers a very reasonable fare. It provides a good service. And, it offers a great ambiance.

How does Doha Metro compare to your experience of rail/metro travel in other countries?

As I said before , the fare is very affordable for all and it also seems well controlled.

Do you use your time on the Metro to do anything special?

While traveling I like to listen music, watch some videos and catch up on social media. I also like to video call with my family without any disconnection.

Is there anything that you feel could be improved?

So far, everything seems great. I am looking forward to have a Metro directly to Doha Festival City.

Would you recommend Metro travel to others?

It’s a big… YES!

Has the Metro changed anything about your day/week?

YES! Doha Metro has helped me to escape the stressful traffic every afternoon from work.

Have you ever started a conversation or met anyone interesting while using the Metro?

Yes! I met my colleague Natalie (that’s me, and it was very nice to see a friendly face and have a chat before I changed stations).

Would you like to feature on our blog? Whether you’d like to be filmed, or conduct a quick Q&A via email, we’d love to hear from you.
