Meet Nathanael

Doha Metro

Nathanael reached out to us via our Instagram page, and we’re really happy he did – it’s great to hear from a fellow Doha Metro fan. And, it appears that the Metro has changed his routine and weekends, helping him to explore more areas around the city.

Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I’m from America, I currently study at Gems American Academy and I have been here since 2009.

How often do you use Doha Metro and which stations do you use the most? Every weekend, when I go home from school, and anytime I’m free. The stations I use most regularly include Mshereib, Oqba Ibn Nafie, and Al Wakra.

Why are you using the Metro? I use the Metro to get to school, meet friends, and going out for lunch/dinner.

Why do you enjoy travelling by Doha Metro? It’s very clean, reliable, plus it’s very easy to navigate.

What’s the best thing about Doha Metro?  You can relax at the stations, plus there are facilities including stores, vending machines, and ATM services.

How does Doha Metro compare to your experience of rail/metro travel in other countries? So far, Doha Metro is much better than other railways I’ve seen. Mainly because the fares are cheap, and the trains are on time.

Do you use your time on the Metro to do anything special? Mostly I go around to random stations in my free time just to look for anything new.

Is there anything that you feel could be improved? So far nothing with the stations or trains. I do advise they open more Metrolink routes since many passengers rely on them to get them to/from the station.

Would you recommend Metro travel to others? Yes, I definitely would.

Has the Metro changed anything about your day/week? Ever since the metro has opened, I’ve become more active over weekends and going out more often.

Do you have any memorable Metro moments? I’ve had quite a lot of experiences and records so far. I’ve been on 83 Trainsets up to date and I have visited all 37 stations.
