Doha Metro ticket prices – travel from just QAR 6 a day

Travel card sign at Doha Metro station

One of the reasons we enjoy using Doha Metro is that along with being very convenient, it’s also very affordable – it’s just QAR 2 a journey when you buy a travel card. It’s not like other countries underground and metro systems where you have to pay for the distance or zone you travel to.

Doha Metro keeps things simple – one journey, one fare.

Prices:

Standard Travel Card: It costs 10 QAR to buy the Metro Travel card and then you can top it up with the amount you need. Each journey then costs you just QAR 2. And, each maximum day spend is capped at QAR 6! So, you can make a lot of different journeys during and only pay QAR 6 ($1.65) a day. That’s incredibly affordable.

Gold Travel Card: The initial cost for the travel card is QAR 100. And again, you can top it up with whatever suits your usage. Each journey once you’ve bought the card costs you QAR 10.

Day Passes: You can also buy a standard day pass and a gold day pass. Standard is QAR 9. Gold is QAR 45.

FREE: Travel for children under five is free. Over 5 and they have to pay the same rates as adults.

Tickets can be bought at stations and travel cards can be purchased at stations and also at supermarkets such as Carrefour, Lulu, and Al Meera.

To top up your card, just use the machines placed at every metro station.
